World Marathon Majors analysis: Only 2 races to go for Series XI

World marathon majors series XI will be concluded in the upcoming month of April’18. The Boston Marathon and London Marathon will be held respectively on April 16 2018 & April 22 2018.

There is a tough competition in Men’s Series XI of WMM, 6 marathoners have same points. Dickson Chumba, Daniel Wanjiru, Eliud Kipchoge, Galen Rupp, Geoffrey Kamworor, Geoffrey Kirui all have 25 points till now and only 2 more races to go.

  • Winner of Series VIII (2013/14), Wilson Kipsang is at 12th rank with 16 points.
  • Galen Rupp of USA is the surprise package, he is jointly at no. 1 and won Chicago Marathon 2017.

In Women’s Series XI, the close encounter between Mary Keitany & Tirunesh Dibaba both stood at No. 1 with 41 points. Upcoming Boston & London Marathon is very crucial for both of them.

The World Marathon Majors (WMM) is a series consisting of 6 of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world, Olympic Games & IAAF World Championships Marathon. The 6 marathon races take place in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York City.

WMM series was started in 2006,  it spanned two calendar years, the second year of a series overlapped with the first year of the next.
